I believe scarce dollars creates challenges in preparing students in the 21st century. In David Douglas this means we simply must do more with less. Scarce dollars cannot an excuse for eroding educational quality.
EXPERIENCE:
I have spent the last 23 years dealing with school policies, budgets, collective bargaining and school operations. My 35 years associated with the construction industry provides a valuable resource for current & future facility needs. This overall experience presents to the voters a candidate who will be able to deal with the challenges that face us.
HIGH STANDARDS:
I believe we must maintain high academic standards even while reducing budgets. My record supports high math and reading test scores and increased graduation requirements. We must continue to find innovative ways to use technology and charter schools to maximize scarce resources.
COMMUNITY:
You will have a voice to keep school buildings open for community activities that benefit kids. I have spent the last 30 years volunteering, coaching and supporting school and community activities which has benefited your children. Providing students supervised and challenging activities develops skills needed to be successful in life. I will continue to be your advocate for extra-curricular activities in your schools.
