PRIOR GOVERNMENTAL EXPERIENCE: Reynolds School District Budget Committee, 2003 - present

Due to the Reynolds School District 2009-2010 budget difficulties, as the father of two children soon to attend Troutdale Elementary, and as the husband of an educator, I have a strong desire to become a school board member. I believe that all children can be inspired and work to achieve their dreams. In order to do so, however, proper supports must be in place. As a board member, I will seek to ensure the following:

  • The Reynolds School District will be financially solvent and offer a wide range of programs in order to meet the diverse needs of its community.
  • A vision and goals are established and clearly communicated to all stakeholders.
  • Adequate support is given to teachers and parents so that they can guide all children to be productive citizens of the 21st century.
  • Programs and curriculum will be in place in order to ensure that all students, regardless of race, language, socio-economic status, etc. aspire to their highest academic levels. All adopted programs/curriculums will be research-based, data-driven, and properly implemented.
  • All schools in the district become green schools.

We are proud to endorse Matt!

  • Reynolds Chapter of Stand for Children ( www.stand.org/or ), whose mission is, in part, “to help all children get the excellent public education and strong support they need to thrive.”
  • Tammy Heim, President, Tammy's Tots Childcare
  • Monica Cory, Principle, The Cory Company

As a school board member, it is essential that I be open, transparent, and communicative. Please visit www.votemattluce.com for more information about me, my supporters, and to contact me.

Thank you for your vote.
