Advocacy for Older Adults and People with Disabilities

Advisory councils play a key role in shaping the programs and services of the Aging, Disability, and Veterans Services Division. Council members advise the county of emerging issues they encounter in the community and educate the public about the services and programs available through our Division. Each of our three councils meet individually 9-12 times per year and gather together each quarter to work collaboratively. Meetings are open to the public and all advisory councils are currently accepting new members. Membership terms are 1-2 years and all volunteers may be required to complete a background check. Note: Advisory Council members shall be residents of Multnomah County, or people who work or otherwise serve older adults, people with disabilities, and Veterans in Multnomah County.
