As a member of the Board of Directors; East Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District. I will use my years of experience with the Portland Parks and as a Land Management Consultant, to assist the landowners of East Multnomah County in managing their property in an environmentally friendly manner.
Education of landowners is a big part of what the East Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District does!
The two areas that landowners can help improve the environment are:
Invasive Vegetation; Multnomah County & Oregon are being choked by invasive vegetation. Steps must be taken to control &/or remove the masses invasive vegetation, which is dangerous to plants, animals and people.
Water: many of our streams are being polluted in small ways that add up as the streams combine with other streams & rivers. On their way to the ocean.
By educating and working with landowners, many small steps can have big results that benefit all of us.
