What is Multnomah Education Service District?
MESD was created to assist the school districts of Multnomah County in educating our students. In fulfilling this mission, MESD has a long history of providing quality services to both the school districts of Multnomah County and directly to their students.
Some of MESD's programs and services are: Outdoor School (a 5 day overnight program focusing on science and history in an outdoor setting); Oregon Trail Overnight Program; School Nurses, Immunization Screening, Special Education, Technology Support, Home Schooling Registration and Hearing Screenings. In addition MESD operates the Alpha School, providing a school to work program, Arata Creek School serving emotional and social needs students, Helensview School serving teen parents and socially challenged youth and The Functional Living School serving special needs students.
I will work to ensure that MESD continues to provide services to our students that are cost effective and relevant. I understand that funding will be decreasing and will advocate for further efficiencies in order to stretch our tax dollars.
