About the Project
We are creating our first Stormwater Master Plan. This will create a strategy on how we will plan for stormwater- rain and melted snow- for the next 20 years.
We began by gathering information about the current stormwater system- how well it works, where it falls short, and what data we’re missing. Public input was an important part of this step.
With this information collected, we will now study how well the system works today and how it might perform in the future. We will also evaluate water quality- how clean stormwater is now and how it could change. These studies, along with your input, will help find problem areas and possible solutions.
From these findings, we will create a list of improvements and set priorities. These projects will form a Capital Improvement Plan, one of the main results of the master plan.
Finally, a report will summarize the work we’ve done, the results of the studies, the recommended projects, and ideas for future updates to the plan. The project will also include workshops with nearby communities to share findings and gather feedback.
Timeline
Fall-Winter 2025-6 (complete): We asked for your input in our online survey while we studied and reviewed our own data.
Spring 2026: We will use the information we have gathered to draft our plans.
Summer 2026: We will review and complete our draft plans. This will include a public comment period.
Fall 2026: We will publish our final Stormwater Master Plan and Capital Improvement Plan and complete the project.
