We list work performed by Multnomah County on county roads. Work performed by utilities or anyone else may not be listed here.


Week of May 25-31

Construction

257th Ave Safety Improvements Project

  • Electrical subcontractors continue placing bases for new light poles to be installed later in the project, starting near Sturges Street and moving south on the west side.
  • Electrical subcontractors will continue working north of Sturges Drive on the west side to install a new electrical conduit for the upgraded light poles. They will be drilling sideways under the sidewalk.
  • Crews will continue installing new curb ramps and pedestrian upgrades at the mid block crossings near Reynold's High School and at 28th Street.
  • Electrical subcontractors finished installing the signal pole bases for the pedestrian beacon pole near Reynold's High School.
  • A drill rig will be drilling a shaft this week on 28th Street for the first support for the pedestrian beacon pole.
  • During construction, there will be single lane closures between SE Stark Street and SW Cherry Park Road/Sturges Drive. Signage and traffic control devices will direct traffic around the work zone.

Maintenance

Routine Maintenance

  • You’ll see us around our county roads this week doing routine maintenance, but we have nothing planned that will affect traffic or cause delays or closures.

PWB Bull Run Filtration Project

Several of our roads may be affected by work on Portland Water Bureau's Bull Run Filtration Project.

  • PWB has paused the project. Some work may continue to protect public health and safety, secure construction sites, and comply with permits.
  • Please contact bullrunprojects@portlandoregon.gov with any questions.

Week of May 18-24

Construction

  • A drill rig will be drilling a shaft in front of Reynolds High School for the first support for the pedestrian beacon pole.
  • During construction, there will be single lane closures between SE Stark Street and SW Cherry Park Road/Sturges Drive. Signage and traffic control devices will direct traffic around the work zone.

Short Road Culvert Repair

  • SE Short Road will close between Orient and Dodge Park on Monday 5/19, from 9:30am to 2:00pm, while we repair a culvert.
  • Local access will be maintained southbound on Short from Dodge Park to the West Orient Middle School parking lot entrance.
  • Short will be closed to all traffic from the parking lot to Orient.
  • The closure will not affect school transportation schedules.
