Multnomah County REACH and the African American Breastfeeding Coalition of Oregon (AABCO) aim to increase Black breastfeeding rates through positive media campaigns, training and webinars, and the creation of lactation public and private spaces. We address breastfeeding disparities by providing culturally-specific education and policy recommendations while simultaneously normalizing breastfeeding in our communities.
Goals
- Normalize breastfeeding/chestfeeding our communities
- Support and facilitate training for Black certified lactation consultants (CLCs)
