Short-Term Disability (County-Paid)

IBEW, IUOE, Physicians, Dentists, Pharmacists, Prosecuting Attorneys and Non-Represented employees are automatically enrolled in this plan paid by the County. Employees in other bargaining units (Local 88, IUPAT, MCCDA, DSA, FOPPO, JCSS, or ONA) may choose to enroll in and pay for Optional Short-Term Disability.  

Short-Term Disability insurance (STD) provides partial salary replacement (approximately 60%) if you are unable to work due to a non-work related accident/injury. Benefits begin after a 30-day waiting period from the date determined as the date of disability and may continue up to nine (9) weeks.
