The LPSCC Executive Committee convenes the 4th Monday of the month from 1:30-3pm. Unless otherwise noted, we are currently meeting virtually and login information is posted below. These meetings are public.

February 27, 2023

The February meeting focused on two topics:

  1. Portland's Community Safety Division's programming, and
  2. Legislative Priorities. Government Relations will provide an overview, and this will be a time to hear from LPSCC members about public safety bills they are watching.

June 26, 2023

The June LPSCC meeting focused on the County's changes to the pretrial system. This topic will continue during the July meeting.

There were two votes and both were approved:

  • Vote: STEP court study: DA Mike Schmidt seeks LPSCC’s endorsement for the Oregon Criminal Justice Commission to use $500,000 of state funds to study STEP court
  • Vote: Bureau of Justice Assistance Grant Application

July 24, 2023

At the July meeting, we continued the topic of the county's pretrial system changes, specifically the first appearance pilot. The second half of the meeting was dedicated to a recap of the legislative session.

August 28, 2023

After a presentation about the Multnomah County Justice Reinvestment Program (MCJRP), LPSCC voting members approved the grant application to Oregon's Criminal Justice Commission (CJC). Additionally, Abbey Stamp gave a brief presentation about LPSCC's history, structure and best practices for coordinating councils.

In September, we continued presentations, discussion, and question & answers about pretrial with a focus on state law, specifically Senate Bill 48 and Preventive Detention.

This meeting was held person in the boardroom of the Multnomah Building: 501 SE Hawthorne Blvd, Portland

The agenda focused on criminal justice data, metrics and analyses.
