This is a standalone job profile and is not part of a series. Positions in this job profile provide psychological, consultative, and case management services for primary care patients.

Job description

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

  • Serve as a clinical member of the primary care health home team; ensure patients have access to behavioral health; provide psychological expertise; develop content and teach classes to patients that enhance psychological and physical health; participate in group medical appointments as needed.
  • Perform patient psychological testing and mental status evaluations; provide biopsychosocial assessment and evidence-based psychotherapy interventions; provide behavioral health care consultation to patients; prepare psychological reports presenting diagnoses and treatment recommendations.
  • Conduct treatment work, including individual or group psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral interventions, family therapy, and crisis intervention.
  • Provide psychosocial consultation for primary care staff regarding behavioral conditions, diagnoses, and treatment options; provide feedback to primary care providers regarding findings and recommendations; conduct training for primary care staff.    
  • Provide patient case management services, including coordinating care with behavioral health community partners; assist in the implementation of treatment plans; support the development of the integrated behavioral health services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Perform the most difficult assignments requiring a higher level of responsibility, applying advanced subject knowledge, and exercising significant independent judgment and initiative.
  • Receive work assignments in terms of objectives, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Work is reviewed for technical accuracy, compliance to program objectives, and overall results.
  • Receive direction from manager or staff.              

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES:

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. Requirements are determined at the time of recruitment based on responsibilities of the individual position and business needs of the department.

Clinical Psychologist

Training and experience for this classification are a Doctorate and three (3) to six (6) years of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

REQUIRED TRAINING, LICENSES, AND/OR CERTIFICATES:

  • License required to practice as a Psychologist as outlines by Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) 675.030.
