Land Use Planning Division
Land Use Planning
We ensure the preservation and protection of wildlife, streams, scenic views, the Columbia River Gorge, forest lands, and farm and nursery production.
We protect health, safety and livability by assuring compliance with the county’s land use, transportation and grading and erosion control codes.
We manage and maintain six Willamette River Bridges and over 20 smaller bridges elsewhere in the County.
We design, construct, maintain, operate and preserve nearly 300 miles of county-owned roads, with a focus on innovation, a skilled workforce and efficient practices.
We review and maintain public survey records and make them available to the public, review and approve land divisions, maintain survey monuments, and assist other agencies and the public with our survey expertise.
We manage the development of plans to address all modes of transportation at both the local and regional level.
