Job description
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
- Provide day-to-day supervision of the nutritional services operation; plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, and review the work of a diverse workforce; develop and revise work processes; establish work schedules; provide or coordinate staff training; manage performance and work with staff to correct deficiencies; monitor work performed to meet agreed upon goals and objectives.
- Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; evaluate operations and activities of assigned responsibilities; recommend improvements and modifications; recommend and implement policies and procedures; assist in the development and administration of the budget; participate in forecasting additional funds for staffing and resources; prepare various nutrition services reports on operations and activities.
- Develop, implement, and monitor a cycle menu for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and sack meals to meet all mandated Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDAs), current Dietary Guidelines for Americans, and USDA School Meals Initiative nutritional requirements.
- Serve as the dietitian making diet modifications using the American Dietetic Association's Nutrition Care Manual; develop, implement, and monitor the USDA Food Safety Plan. Develop, implement, and oversee a culinary arts training program for youth; track progress and maintain required documentation; work with school districts and restaurants to place the youth in food service jobs after completion of the program.
- Oversee daily financial café transactions; reconcile sales and complete bank deposits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. Requirements are determined at the time of recruitment based on responsibilities of the individual position and business needs of the department.
Nutrition Services Program Supervisor
Training and experience for advanced level, professional classifications are typically equivalent to a bachelor's degree and three (3) to six (6) years of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. (Equivalency 7-10 years of qualifying training and/or experience).
Depending upon assignment, candidates may be required to pass a criminal background check, have a valid driver license, and /or additional training, licenses, or certificates.
REQUIRED TRAINING, LICENSES, AND/OR CERTIFICATES:
Multnomah County Food Handler's Permit or a National Restaurant Association's "ServSafe" certification required.
