Adopt a Senior Pet Month

November is Adopt-a-Senior-Pet Month. While kittens are in high demand, older cats make great companions. They are typically calm and content in day-to-day routines but sadly, are the last to be adopted from the shelter.  Many of our senior cats have been at the shelter for quite some time and are in need of homes.

Adoption fees for cats 6-years-old or older are $25.00 and $12.00 for cats on the adoption floor for more than 30 days. The fee includes spay/neuter surgery, first set of vaccinations, including rabies, health exam at the shelter, health exam at a vet clinic, pet license, microchip, Felv/FIV test for cats.

Please consider stopping by the Multnomah County Animal Shelter at 1700 W. Historic Columbia Highway Troutdale. The shelter is open Tuesday through Sunday and closed on Monday. For hours please visit our website at multcopets.org.

Multnomah County Animal Services (MCAS) is the only open door shelter in Portland. We are the primary agency responsible for lost pet care, animal abuse investigations and animal rescue in Multnomah County. We also offer dog and cat licensing, lost and found pet services.
