Commissioner Loretta Smith, Senator Ron Wyden and more than 100 seniors gather for FREE Pancake Breakfast/Q&A

PORTLAND, Ore. -- On Saturday, October 22 Commissioner Loretta SmithSenator Ron Wyden, the Urban League of PortlandBlack Women for Peace and more than 115 local seniors will take part in a Free Senior Pancake Breakfast.  The event, at the Urban League’s Multicultural Senior Center on 5352 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, will include a presentation by Black Women for Peace, and an opportunity to ask elected leaders about important local and national issues. The event will also address the issue of food insecurity among seniors, particularly those living in isolation.  Representatives from Elders in Action,Vietnamese Seniors Association of Oregon and the County’s Aging, Disability and Veterans Services Division will also be available to answer questions. The event is part of quarterly Free Pancake Breakfasts hosted by Commissioner Loretta Smith to address food insecurity among seniors.
