Multnomah County has rescheduled an open house meeting in the Corbett community to gather public input on a twenty-year capital improvement plan for the county’s roads. The open house is Thursday, February 21 from 6 – 7 pm at Corbett Fire Hall, 36930 Historic Columbia River Highway. An earlier event was cancelled due to winter weather.
An online open house with the same information and input opportunities is offered from February 4 – March 4 at /CIPP.
Multnomah County has 274 miles of roads, mostly in rural areas and in the east county cities of Fairview, Troutdale and Wood Village. The county also has roads in some urban unincorporated areas, such as Dunthorpe and the West Hills.
The final plan will prioritize capital projects – ranging from road widening to bike lanes to culvert replacements and more – based on criteria that include safety, equity, asset management and sustainability.
Using public feedback received last year, the county has drafted lists of road projects to share with the public. Open house attendees can learn why and how the county updates the road plan. The events also offer people an opportunity to tell the county:
- If you agree with how projects were chosen
- Which projects on the lists are most important
- If anything is missing from the lists
