Multnomah County, Metro hold February 21 open house for small businesses

Representatives of small businesses in the Portland metro region can learn about how to do business with Multnomah County and Metro at a free Small Business Open House on Wednesday, February 21 from 3 pm to 6 pm at the Oregon Convention Center, Lobby D, 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Portland.  For more information and to register, visit www.metro-multco-openhouse-2018.eventzilla.

The event is an opportunity for local small business owners and staff to meet purchasing and project staff from both agencies and learn about upcoming projects and resources available to businesses. 

Both Metro and Multnomah County are committed to supporting local businesses, including new businesses and those owned by women and minorities. County Chair Deborah Kafoury and Metro Councilor Shirley Craddick will make welcome remarks at 3:30 pm.

The open house includes:

  • Booths with representatives from different County and Metro programs and purchasing
  • Workshop on the County’s new Supplier Registration Portal, an online tool where suppliers and county staff connect about purchasing activities.
  • Workshop on upcoming projects at Metro’s Oregon Convention Center.
  • Information on how to register as a certified Oregon State Small Business

Representatives from agencies including the Small Business Administration, the Oregon Association of Minority Entrepreneurs and the Small Business Development Center will also share resources at the open house.
