Anyone can get mpox. In the U.S., men who have sex with men have been the most affected and are considered at higher risk.
It's best to get vaccinated before you're exposed. If you’ve only had one dose, it’s time to get your second one. Getting both doses offers the most protection.

Mpox Can Be Serious
Caused by a virus that usually spreads through close physical contact, mpox often causes a rash along with a flu-like illness. The rash can be very painful and leave scars.
When you're vaccinated, you’re less likely to get and spread mpox. Symptoms are also less severe if you do get it. More about mpox
