The design phase has kicked off for road safety improvement projects in East County.
223rd Avenue Safe Routes to School Project in Fairview - Approximately ¼ mile of new sidewalks and ADA ramps will be installed as part of this project between Lincoln Street and Bridge Street. This project will provide safe pedestrian access to Fairview Elementary School and is funded by ODOT’s Safe Route to School Program.
Intersection upgrades in Fairview and Troutdale - With the infusion of Covid Relief Funds to the County, seven intersections in Troutdale and Fairview will be receiving signal upgrades that include adding yellow retro-reflective tape around the outside of the head (see image for an example). This will make them more visible at night and during power outages. Five of the intersections are along 257th Drive and two are along Halsey Street.
