Fairview Library
The Fairview Library has been undergoing a remodel refresh, and was expected to reopen in the Spring/Summer of 2024. The library is a leased space located under residential apartments, and unfortunately during the first weekend in April, the apartment above the library experienced a fire which set off the apartment’s sprinkler system. Water leaked into the Fairview Library, causing damage. The Library is working with the building’s landlord on a timeline for the landlord to complete the repair work. In assessing the extent of the water damage, some drywall, electrical wiring, insulation and ceiling panels will need to be replaced. Exact reopening dates will be shared as soon as more details are known here.
Troutdale Library
Since Troutdale and Fairview serve a similar region, the library has been assessing how to lessen the time the two locations are closed to the community, while balancing the potential negative impacts on the overall construction schedule and budget for all of the library updates. The Troutdale Library will now close to the public on June 20th, with an anticipated reopening date in the Fall of 2024. We will share reopening information as soon as available here.
East County Library
You have likely driven by the site and noticed that the construction crane is now in place. Did you know this is only the second construction crane to have been constructed in Gresham?
