Multnomah County Chair Deborah Kafoury's statement on reports of attacks on LGBTQ community members

February 19, 2019

All are Welcome Here_LGBTQAt Multnomah County, we’re committed to welcoming, serving and supporting all members of our community. In the past week, we’ve heard clearly from the LGBTQ community about an uptick in reports of discriminatory and violent attacks and people feeling unsafe.

Bullying, hate speech and harassment of people who identify as LGBTQ is completely unacceptable. If you are feeling anxious or unsafe, please call the County's 24-hour Mental Health Call Center to speak to a clinician. Staff can also point you to specific resources.
