The ideal number of volunteers for this opportunity is 25 people. If you build it (then remove it) they will come (and swim)!
Wouldn't it be nice if people had more straightforward access to the banks of the Willamette River for picnics, sunbathing, or swimming? If you are up for heavy lifting and hard work with a big, satisfying outcome, join the Human Access Project for a weekend morning at low tide, where we will use our collective muscle power to increase access to the beautiful river's edge. With permits in hand from the Department of State Lands, the Human Access Project seeks volunteers to help dig, remove old pilings, and cover the holes located on the north and south sides of a swimming dock entering the Willamette River.
Please bring your own gloves and a shovel. If you have extra, please bring them for others who may not have their own.
