The Parent Education Program presents information concerning legal issues, child development, conflict resolution strategies and community resources for those who have custody and parenting time issues before the court. 

The one-time only class is offered five times per month— one Saturday morning, one Tuesday morning, and one Tuesday evening; all at Multnomah County Courthouse and two Thursday evening classes at the Donald E. Long Juvenile Justice Facility. .

This is class is mandatory for those who have a domestic relations matter pending before the court (ORS 3.425). 

  • A $70 fee is charged to participate in this class.
  • Those registering within 60 days of filing the initial petition in Multnomah County (for petitioners), or within 60 days of being served (respondents), are eligible for the reduced rate of $55.
