On Tuesday, December 7th, Multnomah County held their annual recognition award ceremony for county employees who have provided 15, 20, 25, 30, or 35 years of service. The Department of Community Justice proudly had 72 employees achieving these milestones. Their combined public service record totals 1,385 years of experience.
Scott Taylor, DCJ Director, commented that the large number of DCJ employees being honored “demonstrates the high caliber of our staff and the years of experience we bring to our mission”.
Carl Goodman, Assistant Director for the Adult Services Division, commemorated 35 years of public service and had the highest tenure among the DCJ employees being celebrated. When asked what keep him motivated to come to work, Carl responded, “Everyday I work with a great bunch of people who are truly committed to making a difference”. Five additional employees celebrated their 30-year milestone: Gary Burda, Michelle DeShazer, Lawrence Monagon, Adrian Navarro, and Allan Rath. The ceremony included a receiving line led by Chair Cogen and the four County Commissioners. Honorees were presented with a certificate and then enjoyed a reception and refreshments.
