This month crews will begin survey work on N.E. 223rd Ave. between Bridge St. and N.E. Halsey St. Crews will be documenting existing conditions on the roadway and sidewalks. This work is part of a project to create a safer route to Fairview Elementary School. The project aims to create a safer route for all users and make it easier for students to get to school.
Work includes:
- Installing new sidewalks on west side of roadway
- Adding bike lanes
- Adding new ADA ramps and water quality facilities
The estimated $2.6 million project is funded through a Safe Routes to School grant and County Transportation funds. Construction is expected in 2026.
