Project Information

  • Location: NW Germantown Road, between Skyline and Kaiser (see location map)
  • Schedule: A seven consecutive day road closure will be needed between late September and mid-October 2018.
  • Estimated Cost: $240,000
  • Funding Source: Federal Emergency Funds

Project Description

A slow moving landslide has damaged a portion of NW Germantown Rd. The culvert that crosses Germantown in this section has failed, adding to the slide. We plan to repair the slope, replace the culvert, add a guardrail and realign the road away from the slope.

Traffic Impact

The repairs will require a closure of the road for one to two weeks. The road is too narrow to keep open to traffic during repairs.

Germantown will be closed to through traffic between NW Kaiser Road and NW Skyline Boulevard. Residents of Germantown will have access at all times, up to the work zone.

Alternate routes for through traffic will include NW Skyline Boulevard and Springville Road.

Public Involvement

A public meeting was held on August 30, 2017 at the Skyline Grange to share information about the project and gather community input.  The meeting presentation and public comment summary from the meeting are below.
