A biennial structural inspection of the Stark Street Bridge over the Sandy River is scheduled Thursday to Friday, October 17-18 from 8 am to 4 pm. The bridge will be closed during daytime work hours.
Bridge deck panels to be placed this week.
The contractor is on schedule to fully reopen the road the evening of Friday, October 18. Guardrail and permanent safety signs are being added, and a sharp curve near NW 8th Ave. is being realigned.
Construction crew will continue this week with concrete backfill and building retaining walls.
The contractor is installing guardrail, permanent safety signs and anchors for protective rock netting in the S curves north of Skyline. The road is scheduled to reopen by the evening of Oct. 18.
Multnomah County Transportation plans to reopen NW Cornelius Pass Road to traffic in mid-October, but construction of safety improvements on the road will continue in 2020.
The north lane of NE Arata Road between NE Wood Village Blvd. and NE 238th Drive in Wood Village will be paved September 28 between 7 am and 7 pm, weather permitting. The south lane will be open.
Multnomah County road maintenance plans to apply new lane striping on the Historic Columbia River Highway in downtown Troutdale near Buxton Road on Sept. 30 - Oct. 1. One lane will be closed at times.
Excavation of the rock face in the S-curves is nearly complete. A safety net will be installed over the rock face next week and then pavement will be removed and the road realigned in the curves.
Concrete backfill and retaining walls the focus for the next two weeks.
Wildish Standard Paving is building the north side of Arata Road between Wood Village Blvd. and NE 238th Drive and installing a new traffic signal at NE 238th Drive
