Multnomah County road maintenance plans to apply new lane striping on the Historic Columbia River Highway in downtown Troutdale near Buxton Road on Sept. 30 - Oct. 1. One lane will be closed at times.
Excavation of the rock face in the S-curves is nearly complete. A safety net will be installed over the rock face next week and then pavement will be removed and the road realigned in the curves.
Concrete backfill and retaining walls the focus for the next two weeks.
Wildish Standard Paving is building the north side of Arata Road between Wood Village Blvd. and NE 238th Drive and installing a new traffic signal at NE 238th Drive
Second support structure to be poured and cured at SE Cochran Road site.
The contractor is focused on realigned NW Cornelius Pass Road in the S curves north of Skyline Blvd. and replacing the culvert where the road is being realigned near NW 8th Ave.
Retaining walls to be constructed this week.
Removal of the rock outcrop above the S-curves on NW Cornelius Pass Road has begun, as part of the realignment of these sharp curves.
Most of the work this week at the SE Cochran Road site will focus on building the form for bent 2 and tying its rebar.
In the next week, a culvert under Cornelius Pass Road near NW 8th Ave. will be removed as part of a realignment of a sharp curve where crashes have occurred. A new box culvert will be installed.
The contractor is rebuilding the north side of NE Arata Road between NE Wood Village Blvd. and NE 238th Drive, while eastbound traffic uses the newly built south side of the road.
Stream bed work coming to a close while excavating for second support structure gets underway.
